STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

Tyler Smith is the head strength and conditioning coach at Jekyll & Hyde. He grew up with an obsession to find what the human body is capable of and  after years of research, testing and experimenting with multiple training methods, he  has acquired the knowledge to help other athletes reach their goals. After learning traditional strength training methods in football, he deep dived into years of research and experimentation with the Westside Barbell Conjugate method. After college he entered into the world of Crossfit in another effort to pursue the highest level of performance. Bringing the unique methods of the conjugate powerlifting style into the Crossfit realm allowed for a quick acceleration to high performance. In his never ending desire of knowledge, he found other methods to increase performance faster, such as the CAT method and utilizing techniques from the great, Charles Poliquin. With his wide range of strength strategies, athletes and those alike can benefit from his coaching to reach any goal.

NUTRITION COACH

My name is Andris Sturans and I am the head nutrition coach at Jekyll & Hyde. I spent much of my childhood trying to understand my instinctual desire to push my limits no matter what the cost. It was something that set me apart from my peers in high school and throughout college. I opted to spend all of my waking hours training, eating, and researching anything I could find that would help me to become a more adaptable, formidable, and capable human being. A great deal of this research was focused around nutrition. Specifically, how to fuel the body to increase resiliency and performance.

After college, I found Crossfit and realized that the methodology therein was the closest thing to what I have been searching for: an approach to training that focused not on perfecting one aspect of fitness and one’s ability to be adaptable and capable in any situation life throws at you. I quickly decided to commit myself to competing in the sport of Crossfit in an effort to become the warrior I desired to be. Nutrition plays a crucial role in my pursuit. I am here to help you learn how to use nutrition to get the most out of your training as well as harness and develop your warrior mindset.
